Rural Skip

The Rural Skip is coming to Starcross on Saturday 24th June 2017 from 10:00am until 4:00pm at the Sportsfield/Pavilion car park.

The following materials CANNOT be accepted (The Contractor’s decision is final in deciding the volumes and types of material acceptable): -

Dead pets & animals - Plastic window or door frames (with or without glass) - Food waste - Insulation materials - Garden Waste - Roofing felt - Soil & Rubble (including tiles & sanitary ware) - Hazardous waste (including fluorescent tubes) - Tyres - Vehicle batteries - Oils & other liquids ( including household chemicals) - Plasterboard & asbestos - Sharps/clinical items - Plastic pipes/ guttering/ facia etc - Demolition & construction waste - Shower screen (glass or plastic) - Bath or shower tray (plastic, fibreglass or composite) - Toxic wastes - Gas cylinders

PLEASE NOTE: TV’s, fridges and computer monitors are accepted.

This service is for bulky household waste only, NO TRADE WASTE

Please do not deposit any waste at the site before the skip has arrived.

Starcross and Cockwood Tidal Defence Scheme

The Environment Agency is working towards delivering a tidal defence scheme for Starcross and Cockwood in order to reduce flood risk.

The project was identified as one of the priority schemes detailed in the Exe Estuary Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy (EEFCRMS).  The proposed scheme is estimated to reduce flood risk to over 600 residential and commercial properties.

Starcross Pavilion

The Pavilion is open and available for hire for meetings, conferences, recreational activities and private functions. There is a hall with seating and tables for 50 people, fully equipped kitchen, disabled access and facilities, changing rooms and showers, with sports field and football pitch adjacent.
